Evening Sail & BBQ

Glasgow Richmond’s latest event, went of with a bang, literally.

Our "BBQ & Evening Sail" was a great success and although bitterly cold, the evening remained dry and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had a fantastic turn out and the day was made even more memorable by the cracking cake to celebrate the birthday of our staunchest member, Jamesy Conlan.

The BBQ was superb, with everyone tucking into piping hot burgers, bangers and chicken, served up by our two budding chefs Neil and Susan, they kept up with the demand of the hungry masses, despite constant harassment from the Chairman.

The boats on the water, although not as prolific as previous years, Night sailingwere tremendous. Ferries, tugs, pleasure craft and our newest addition in the club, the now famous Club 500`s, were all illuminated on the water, it was a fantastic sight.

The crowd were also treated to an impromptu firework display by our very own David Morrison, this was a great finale for an already fantastic evening.

Some members also put on a good display Tanks & Clb 500sof  1/16 scale tanks, these negotiated a precarious obstacle course, erected inside the club house, later on in the evening and although there were a few hair raising moments, a great laugh, was had by all.

Once again, a big thank you to all who made this such a great event.
Here’s looking forward to the next one.

Brian.
