Charity Sail 2019

Unfortunately the weather was not charitable on the day, but still we went full steam ahead.

The usual faces arrived early to help setup and a decision was made to do a limited display, this turned out to be a sensible decision, given the poor weather.

Charity8a As usual we had excellent food and drink throughout the day, with the ice cream dishes proving a great success, many thanks James and Sandy for all their good works in the kitchen, again.

Neil also deserves thanks for spending his day doing the tombola.

Throughout the day we had boats on display and sailing in the pond, thanks to the members who participated.

Charity11aLate in the day we held a Buggy “crawler” challenge with Captain Ron winning in a time of 45 seconds, his speed through the puddles and over the obstacles proving too much for the opposition. Perhaps this will become a regular activity at the clubs events.

The event raised £170 for our nominated charities, and the club will more than double this total up to £500.

Although the day was limited by the weather those who attended had a good time.

Let’s hope for better weather next year.
